Will the headlines around Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie help or hurt “Allied“? That certainly remains a big question mark for the movie. Pitt pulled out of promotional duties for “Voyage Of Time” when his divorce became public, and Paramount is likely hoping they can at least get him doing select press for “Allied” when it opens next month. If not, it’ll certainly make pushing the movie a bigger challenge.
Co-starring Marion Cotillard, and directed by Robert Zemeckis, the Steven Knight (“Eastern Promises,” “Locke“) -penned WWII story finds two agents facing danger and romance during WWII. Here’s the official synopsis:
“ALLIED” is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
“Allied” opens on November 23rd.
