Disney is working hard to keep the plot of next year’s “Tomorrowland” under wraps — their efforts have only been met with more fervent prying — and two major rumors have already come out about the sci-fi flick starring George Clooney and Hugh Laurie. The first was about Walt Disney working with the government to reveal that UFOs exist. The second was about a genius middle-aged man, a pre-pubescent robot girl, and a real teenage girl teaming up to unravel the mystery of an alternative dimension called Tomorrowland.
It looks like the second one has more truth to it, because the robot girl has been cast. British actress Raffey Cassidy (who played a young Kristen Stewart in “Snow White and The Huntsman” and will play the title character in the upcoming indie “Molly Moon: The Incredible Hypnotist”) has scored the role of a decades old robot who knows several fighting styles. She seems like a solid choice — a very human looking child, if we do say so ourselves, making her ageless robot-ness that much creepier. THR also reports that her character has a previous relationship with Clooney’s bitter inventor.
So a few more possible hints about the plot from the character description, but Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird are still keeping quiet. We’re guessing the next piece of news will be the casting of the teenage girl. Suggestions?
