‘Books of Blood’ Trailer: Britt Robertson, Anna Friel & More Introduce A New Generation To Clive Barker

Thank God for streaming services keeping film and TV content alive in 2020. While the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down the majority of theaters for the foreseeable future, audiences have been looking to streaming services for new content — and they’ve been delivering. Horror fans can count themselves lucky because with Halloween quickly approaching, we’ll be due for a slew of brand-new scary movies. One of which is Hulu’s upcoming film “Books of Blood,” which is an adaptation of Clive Barker’s famous horror anthology series.

Whether you realized it already or not, Barker’s stories are a backbone of the horror genre. His story “The Forbidden” was the inspiration for ’90s horror classic “Candyman.” Barker’s novella “The Hellbound Heart” inspired “Hellraiser,” which is another staple in the horror movie genre. Simply put, Barker is everywhere. With the forthcoming Hulu adaptation a brand new generation is about to be introduced to Barker’s work.

“Books of Blood” stars Britt Robertson. (“The Space Between Us”), Rafi Gavron (“A Star is Born”), Anna Friel (“Timeline”), Yul Vazquez (“The Outsider”), and Freda Foh Shen (“Dude, Where’s My Car?”). The film is directed by Brannon Braga (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”) and produced by Braga and Seth MacFarlane.
