Got a Tip?

‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Trailer: Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova Do Hot Girl Sh*t In A24’s Gen-Z New Horror Comedy

Let’s face it, skewering younger generations is a tried-and-true tradition. Millennials got it for years with the avocado toast thing—mostly from conservatives, but everyone dogpiled then—and now Gen-Z, Gen A, and the TikTok generation are receiving their lambasting too. All of that punching down and playful impaling in the launching pad for “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” a new A24 comedy from Dutch actress, writer/director Halina Reijn (“Instinct”) and newcomer writer Sarah DeLappe.

But there’s a twist to it all, and what starts out like a bayonetting on 20-somethings and vapid Gen-Z culture morphs into a horror murder mystery when a trivial game turns into something far deadlier. The film debuted at SXSW earlier this year and earned rave reviews (including our own).

“Bodies Bodies Bodies” features quite the cast of up-and-coming actors, too, including Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”), Maria Bakalova (“Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”), Myha’la Herrold (HBO’s Industry”), Chase Sui Wonders (HBO’sGeneration,” and Rachel Sennott (“Shiva Baby”), with Lee Pace and Pete Davidson to boot. Here’s the official synopsis

When a group of rich 20-somethings plans a hurricane party at a remote family mansion, a party game goes awry in this fresh and funny look at backstabbing, fake friends, and one party gone very, very wrong.

“Bodies Bodies Bodies” arrives in select theaters August 5, 2022, and goes nationwide August 12, 2022, via A24. Watch the new trailer below, which features the new Charli XCX song, “Hot Girl.”
