No, this isn't "The Grey 2" but it might as well be. If Liam Neeson and a bunch of dudes fleeing some wolves in "The Grey" isn't enough for now, another man vs. nature tale is on the way, albeit with a slightly more B-level cast.
Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Jane and guy-who-can't-get-a-break James Marsden will star in "Red Machine." The story will center on two brothers, who make up about any static and beef they had between them, by going on a camping trip with their girlfriends. But shit gets very real when they are attacked and stalked by a grizzly bear. Luckily, Thornton has the Liam Neeson role as bear expert and hunter who we presume the couples cross paths with.
And if this movie is anything like "The Grey," it will take extreme liberties with how animals actually act, and turn the bear — called the Red Machine, of course — into a fur wearing, four legged vengeance seeker. Anyway, "Saw 5" director David Hackl is at the helm, which should tell you all you need to know, with J.R. Reher penning the script.
The movie is fully financed, so we're guessing it'll roll soon. And Hackl leaves us with these words, as he told Variety, "Just by the premise you know something bad is going to happen."
Enjoyed reading this hilarious post, especially "But shit gets very real…". Well done Kevin!
Shit, I'll watch it.
No it's not "The Grey 2" but it sure sounds like a reboot of "The Edge". Creativity is dead in Hollywood.
