Brooklyn rapper Gravy, aka Jamal Woolard, plays slain rapper, the Notorious B.I.G. (aka Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace), Derek Luke (David Mamet’s “Spartan“) is Sean ‘Puff Daddy, Diddy’ Combs, the BadBoy impresario and record executive who helped launch Biggie’s career with 1994’s classic debut Ready To Die. Angela Bassett plays Big’s moms Voletta Wallace the young thespian heavyweight Anthony Mackie (“Half Nelson”) plays his West Coast rival Tupac Shakur.
