Got a Tip?

Ben Affleck Mocks The “Logic Stretch” Of Michael Bay’s ‘Armageddon’ In DVD Commentary Track [Watch]

While this past spring Ben Affleck reacted to the negative reviews for “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” with a meme seen ’round the world, there was a time when the actor more easily shook off crappy blockbusters. Back in 1998, Affleck starred in Michael Bay‘s bloated, Criterion Collection-approved blockbuster “Armageddon,” and on one of the commentary tracks, he gloriously went off on how ridiculous the movie was, starting with the entire premise that oil drillers had to educate NASA scientists about how to build an engine.

“See, here’s where we demonstrate that because Bruce [Willis] is going to tell the guys that they did a bad job of building the drill tank. Because he’s a salt-of-the-earth guy, and these NASA nerdonauts don’t understand his salt-of-the-earth ways…Like somehow they can build rocket ships but they don’t understand what makes a good [transmission],” he said laughing.

And it gets even better, with Affleck also mocking the stunt actors, though maybe he should count his blessings (or not) he wound up in the movie at all — Bruce Willis says on the commentary track that Michael Bay continually warned Affleck he might be cut from the movie altogether.

Check out the clips from the “Armageddon” release below. Too bad “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” won’t have any commentary tracks… [Cracked]
