Shortcuts: ‘Batman 3’ Slated For 2011? Spieberg’s ‘Tintin’ Gets Terribly Fey Title; Cast, Mickey Rourke To Appear At Wrestlemania

Batman producer Michael Uslan says 2011 will be the release year for the sequel to “The Dark Knight.” Now all they need is an idea, a script, some actors to play the villains and the if/when consent of director Christopher Nolan. If Nolan somehow decides to do something else, WB will surely go on without him, the franchise is too big a franchise not to, but if they do, let’s hope they keep on the original cast (who we believe are locked in by contract anyhow), and don’t fuck it up like the previous franchise. “Defiance” cast mates Jamie Bell and Daniel Craig have joined the cast of Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn” which officially now the feyest film title of 2010. Bell will play Tintin himself. One day we will care about this project. Today won’t be it. [ComingSoon]

Evidently realizing his his dignity flew out the window ages ago, Mickey Rourke has agreed to be part of the next WWE Wrestlemania. “The boys from the WWE called me and asked me to do it. I said, ‘I want to.’ I’m talking with [WWE legend] Rowdy Roddy Piper about it.” He’s also never seen “The Wrestler.” “I don’t watch anything until three, four, five years go by,” he said. “I think all the studios know that horror sells. It’s a genre that never gets any respect or any love, but it’s always a safe bet.” – On the way to Georgia to prepare shooting on “Halloween 2,” Rob Zombie inadvertently articulates the exact reasons why he’s allowed to make movies. [L.A. Times]

  1. I’m not a TDK nut, but that would suck big time if Nolan didn’t come back. Actually, I’d fear for his life. But who could replace him? It would have to be someone just as high profile. Michael Mann? (yeah right) Fincher? McG? (gulp)
