Another “Funny People,” viral clip that’s… supposed to be not be funny, right? Yes, it’s supposed to be so bad, it’s good or some inverse irony like that? It’s actually kind of annoying and we love Ansari and are looking fwd to the Judd Apatow-directed film, but this feels like something Ansari shot on his own and not within the tone of what Apatow normally shoots and in fact, that’s exactly the case. These Randy documentaries were directed by Jason Woliner from “Human Giant.” Seriously, does anyone find this funny? (aside from the overly- enthusiastic bloggers of course…. all of them). We’re actually curious to hear your thoughts. Here’s more on this character, a stand up comedian naturally, if you’re interested.
The guy who says, "I see every fucking one of his shows!" was the guy who was always naked in Walk Hard
I actually like the part with him putting his head on the porn stars. The rest is mildly amusing. His portrayal of this type of comedian is almost TOO good to the point where where if you're not familiar the kind of comics who populate BET ComicView and Dane Cook wannabes, you just won't get it. A little too inside and not funny enough to be worthwhile.
yeah, my biggest worry with this film is that it will feel too inside joke. Even the parts in Knocked Up involving E! felt too inside joke.
I could take or leave the Randy stuff, but the (I'm assuming) improv by the DJ is hilarious on a scale I haven't seen since the first preview of Anchorman.
Thank God. I didn't think his stand-up routine was funny at all, and was hoping it was one of those not-supposed-to-be-funny-things. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.
