‘Avengers: Endgame’ Director Explains How Film’s Events Affect ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

**Massive spoilers ahead for the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” You’ve been warned.**

Most likely, it’s not until you’re walking out of the theater that you begin to think about the consequences to the end of Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame.” While everything is playing out, with the epic battle followed by a funeral and some goodbyes, audiences are dealing with a flood of emotions and aren’t necessarily thinking about logic. But here we are, almost a week after the film’s debut, and those questions are coming up.

Thankfully, we have ‘Endgame’ co-director Joe Russo to explain.

Speaking to EW, Russo was asked about the end of the film and what it means for Marvel Studios’ next film, “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” If you somehow forgot what happens at the end of the newest ‘Avengers’ film, Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker, is brought back to life, along with everyone else that was “snapped” away by Thanos in ‘Infinity War.’ However, these folks are now in a world that is five years into the future.

That means that the scene where Peter and Ned hug in the school hallway happens five years after the events of ‘Infinity War.’ So, how the hell are Peter and Ned in the same high school? Did Ned get snapped too? Where are the rest of the friends like MJ (Zendaya) and Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori)?

While the ‘Endgame’ director isn’t spilling all the details, he does explain the scene between Ned and Peter, giving it some much-needed context.

“So… Ned disappeared as well,” Joe Russo said. “That’s the two of them seeing each other for the first time after having disappeared.”

Now, that doesn’t mean that all of Peter’s friends were snapped up and are magically in the same grade as our hero. It’s clear that there are plenty of returning faces in ‘Far From Home,’ judging by the trailer that was released, but as of now, we can only confirm that Ned and Peter were snapped.

“There could be kids who are now much older than them and no longer in high school,” the director added. “But Ned and he both disappeared and are returning in that moment.”

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in ‘Far From Home,’ which is hitting theaters on July 2.
