Got a Tip?

Atmospheric First Pics Of Jesse Eisenberg & Noah Taylor In Richard Ayoade’s ‘The Double’

nullThough already well established as a comic actor, writer and director thanks to his work on Brit TV in fare such as "The IT Crowd," "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace" and more, with his debut feature film "Submarine," Richard Ayoade proved himself to be an astute stylist as well. While lazy folks compared his assemblage of French New Wave tics, mixed visual formats and a careful eye for set decoration and costuming as a Wes Anderson riff, he proved he could stand well enough on his own. And it looks like for his next effort, "The Double," he will make a distinct 180 from what he did before.

The first images for the film have arrived (via CinemaTeaser) and they are intriguingly atmospheric. The picture, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Noah Taylor, Mia Wasikowska, Yasmin Page and more, and co-written by Ayoade and Harmony's bro Avi Korine, is a contemporary America-set update on the novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky, about a bureaucrat who starts to lose his sanity when a doppelganger begins working in the same office.

No release date yet, but we fully expect this on the festival circuit next year and we're eager to see what Ayoade delivers for his sophomore effort.null
