We’ve been trying to do our damnedest in our civic blog duty, avoiding stories on the “Arrested Development” movie since updates that inch the story forward a millimeter each time don’t really serve anyone.
However, a lot of the cast and crew seem to be echoing the same sentiment of late: The film should hopefully shoot sometime in 2009 and probably by the end of the year (though some are saying the fall which seems far too optimistic, given the snail’s pace development so far).
Comedian David Cross who played the analrapist and never-nude/ former psychologist Tobias Funke, has again said, late 2009 is the aimed for shooting date and possesses another small tidbit of info: Cross actually knows what the story’s about, but of course, he’s signed away his first born child if ever says a word.
“I can tell you it’s definitely almost positively going to be shot. They’re trying to nail everyone down now. The script’s been ordered and has been green-lit, and they’re hoping to shoot in fall or winter of this year. I’m actually—whatever the legal term is—engendered to not discuss, but I can tell you, I know the idea, and the idea is fucking awesome. And it’s very ‘Arrested Development.’ “
We suppose that’s better than nothing. Does this mean it’ll be as zany, wacky and enjoyable as before and not ruin the legacy of the beloved, but short-lived sitcom? Let’s hope so.
I feel like David Cross is so jaded and too-cool-for-school that him saying the idea is “fucking awesome” bodes really well. And it’s very Arrested Development, yay!
agreed, or at least, for the most part.
