Got a Tip?

Contest: Win A Copy Of Danny McBride’s Dark Comedy/Action Film ‘Arizona’ On Blu-Ray

Sure, everyone seems to be focused on Danny McBride’s writing efforts on the new “Halloween” film this week. As good as that film is, McBride also starred in a great film coming out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival called “Arizona.” And if you were unable to catch the film in its theatrical run, we have a chance for lucky readers to snag their own copy of the film’s Blu-ray.

If you’re unfamiliar with “Arizona,” the dark comedy/action film follows a real estate agent that is struggling to put food on the table during the housing crisis in 2009. Things get even worse when a disgruntled client, played by McBride, kidnaps the agent and goes on to make horrible decision after terrible decision. And in honor of “Arizona,” hitting Blu-ray and DVD this week, we are giving away copies to Playlist readers.

Strong performances from McBride and his co-star Rosemarie DeWitt are the standouts of the film and “succeed in ways other actors would have failed,” as we said in our review from Sundance.

To win a copy, all you have to do is follow us on Facebook and Twitter, tweet: “I want to win the ‘Arizona’ Blu-ray from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest,” and include the URL of this story. Your final step: just email us your tweet to [email protected], with your full name and address, and tell us the name of your favorite Danny McBride film.

“Arizona” is out now on VOD and Blu-ray/DVD.

Here’s the synopsis for the film and trailer:

In “Arizona,” Cassie (Rosemarie DeWitt, La La Land) is a real estate agent and single mom struggling to keep it all together during the housing crisis of 2009. Her problems go from bad to worse when disgruntled client Sonny (Danny McBride, Pineapple Express) violently confronts Cassie’s boss and then kidnaps Cassie – making one outrageously bad, and bloody, decision after another. Things completely spiral out of control in this explosive action comedy, also starring Luke Wilson (Idiocracy), Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), David Alan Grier (“The Carmichael Show”) and Elizabeth Gillies (“Dynasty”).
