Got a Tip?

Anthony Mackie Set To Join Sam Worthington In Thriller ‘Man On A Ledge’

Rising “The Hurt Locker” star Anthony Mackie is in talks to join Sam Worthington in the Lorenzo di Bonaventura produced cop thriller “Man On A Ledge.”

It’s not exactly the caliber of films we think Mackie is capable of excelling in, though the actor has been mixing his Hollywood ventures with stints on Broadway which recently included acclaimed Martin McDonagh play “A Behanding In Spokane,” starring Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell and Zoe Kazan.

At the very least, Mackie does elevate this film’s prospects somewhat in the story of “a female psychologist and a former NYPD officer who threatens to jump to his death.” But the suicide attempt is merely a cover for what is described as “the biggest diamond heist ever attempted.” Asger Leth will be taking the helm of the pic after his remake of the 1993 Italian film “La Scorta” which was set to star Josh Brolin from a script by Peter Morgan, which had the rug pulled from under it a mere five weeks before production was due to begin in Mexico City.

“Man On A Ledge” is from a script by Pablo Fenjves with rewrites now being handled by “Red” adapters Erich and Jon Hoeber. Mark Vahradian and David Ready are producing for Summit Entertainment.
