Coming off the critical success of Kathryn Bigelow’s “The Hurt Locker,” Anthony Mackie has now joined Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in George Nolfi’s sci-fi love-story thriller “The Adjustment Bureau.”
Based on a Phillip K. Dick short story, ‘Bureau’ will center on a smooth-talking congressman (Damon) whose political future is thrown in doubt by the arrival of a mysterious ballerina (Blunt) in his life. Mackie’s role is thus far unknown though the actor is slated to join Nolfi and company after his current run in Shakespeare At The Park’s “The Bacchae” which is due to end August 30. Shooting will take place in New York immediately after the play has ended, so looks like this one is shooting very soon at the beginning of September.
Nolfi and Damon previously collaborated on “The Bourne Ultimatum” where Damon obviously starred while Nolfi scribed for Paul Greengrass. It has previously been assumed that ‘Bureau’ would be the ‘in between’ project for Damon and Nolfi before the two begin work on a fourth “Bourne” film, however, this now looks unlikely as Damon revealed just yesterday that no story nor script is even ready for such ‘Bourne 4’ project.
