Got a Tip?

‘We Have A Ghost’: Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, Tig Notaro & More Join ‘Happy Death Day’ Filmmaker’s Latest Feature

Filmmaker Christopher Landon is seemingly interested in surprising fans with his projects. Though he started his filmmaking career with more traditionally dark horror, such as “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones,” his most recent projects have taken fun concepts and flipped them on their heads with the thrillers, “Happy Death Day” (and its sequel) and “Freaky.” Now, it appears he’s doing the same in “We Have a Ghost,” and he’s landed an all-star cast to help tell the story.

According to THR, Christopher Landon is beginning production on his new feature, “We Have a Ghost” for Netflix shortly. And with that, we now know the details about who is starring in the film and what the plot for the haunted house feature is going to be. Written and directed by Landon, the film tells the story of a family that moves into a house that is haunted by a ghost named Ernest. However, instead of running away screaming, the family uses Ernest to become social media stars. Of course, from there, things get truly whacky as the CIA gets involved and the family finds themselves drawn into something a bit more than they bargained for.

The cast for Landon’s latest includes Anthony Mackie (aka the new Captain America in the MCU), David Harbour (“Black Widow,” “Stranger Things”), Tig Notaro (“Army of the Dead”), Jahi Di’Allo Winston (“Charm City Kings”), and Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”). The film also features actors such as Erica Ash (“Survivor’s Remorse,” “Uncle Drew”), Isabella Russo (“Crashing”), Niles Fitch (“This Is Us”), Faith Ford (“Hope & Faith”), and Steve Coulter (“Shotgun Wedding,” “The Conjuring”).

As mentioned, Landon is probably best known for his horror-comedies “Happy Death Day,” “Happy Death Day 2U,” and “Freaky.” And judging by the plot of “We Have a Ghost,” it appears he’s sticking with the lighter side of horror. A release date for the film has yet to be announced.
