Got a Tip?

‘Ant-Man 3’ Titled ‘Quantumania’; Kathryn Newton To Play The New Cassie Lang

This next feature film revealed by Kevin Feige at the Disney Investors Day event was slightly less surprising at first, but the studio head added a nifty plot tease behind it. “Ant-Man 3” officially is happening and has a wacky new title to go with that announcement as the third installment will be called, “Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.” It’s now pretty dang clear where the superhero duo will be going next in the upcoming sequel, the Quantum Realm, and that could unearth all kinds of weird sh*t.

While most of the cast is returning, Paul Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer, there are two new additions and confirmations. “Lovecraft Country” star Jonathan Majors will be playing the film’s villain Kang The Conqueror, and Kathryn Newton, a rising star from “Blockers” and “Big Little Lies” will take over the role of Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie replacing Emma Fuhrmann. Emma Furhmann had previously played Cassie Lang in “Avengers: Endgame” before the recasting.

Fans are expecting the young Cassie to become her superhero persona Stature in the film. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen actors replaced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the last for that matter.

I’m starting to get the sneaking suspicion that Kang might be from the Quantum Realm instead of the Multiverse as he is in the comics. Also, given the scale of the film, which is said to extremely VFX-heavy, I wouldn’t be shocked if director Peyton Reed attempts to use the Volume/StageCraft technology since he used it while filming his episode of ‘The Mandalorian.”

Lastly, in the mostly the final bits of Marvel news tonight, Feige revealed that a “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special,” slated for Disney+ during the 2022 holiday season. It will be written and directed by “Guardians of the Galaxy” veteran James Gunn. As an off-shoot of ‘Guardians’ content, “I Am Groot” features everyone’s favorite baby tree in a series of original shorts coming to Disney+. That’s really it for Marvel.
