So, will Brian De Palma's "Passion" be a long awaited return to form or another ambitious disappointment? Well, we'll still have to wait and see, but we'd be lying if we said that the images released thus far haven't been making us excited. And now you can add one more to the pile.
Another promo snap, perhaps the most menacing yet, has emerged of Rachel McAdams ready to throttle Noomi Rapace in the film, in what he hope will be a movie that lives up to the thrills its suggesting. A remake of Alain Corneau's 2010 French film “Love Crime,” the story centers on two co-workers, the confident Christine (McAdams) and her admiring, innocent and naive protégé Isabelle (Rapace). Christine has no qualms about stealing some of the fresh ideas Isabelle brings to the international company as her own, but when Isabelle falls into bed with one of Christine's lovers, war breaks out.
Venice Film Festival honcho Alberto Barbera has already hinted that "Passion" could make the lineup for the fest which kicks off on August 29th — or in about eight weeks — so we'll be anxious to see if De Palma can get the movie, which he only started shooting earlier this year, locked in time. Either way, we love the leads, the material is strong…don't fuck it up De Palma.
With De Palma this could go either way …I'm reminded of Femme Fatale (shudder) but for now it does look good.
Dressed To Kill is by far his best knock-out fun movie.
….hey there as really scarface and the untouch ar the only depalms you like…. some say blow out but i never cared for that film… fuck you only 2 deces films yeah you must be over weight and live at home. well if you want i will def cut some bac off that back for you, you fat sack of shit. you know not a thing bout the ole film game. oh yeah suck my dick.how old are you. you must be very smart and educated.
A lot of people only like his gangster movies, that's fair enough, but he's made several very unique, stylish, innovative horror-thrillers too.
Obsession and Carlito's Way were both decent as well…but yeah this is gonna suck.
This film can only be terrible. De Palma has made no more than 2 decent films in his entire career: Scarface and The Untouchables (some would say Blow Out, but I never cared for that film).
