Got a Tip?

Anne Hathaway Reteams With Christopher Nolan For Sci-Fi ‘Interstellar’

nullAt some point in the last few months, everyone decided it was time to pour some haterade on Anne Hathaway for some reason. It’s gotten to the point where the New York Times even did an entire article about it for some reason. Frankly, we don’t get it — she’s an excellent actress, who has had some great success, which we suppose makes some people jealous or whatever — but, Christopher Nolan doesn’t read internet gossip and trash and realizes talent when it’s in front of him.

And so, he’s reteaming with Hathaway for his upcoming sci-fi flick “Interstellar,” with a deal set to be inked soon. Of course, that’s all there is with details remaining secret for now, but she is the first of Nolan’s roster of previous players who’s coming on board the movie, joining the already-cast Matthew McConaughey. Originating from a long developing script by Jonathan Nolan, with Nolan pouring his own special sauce on it with a rewrite, “Interstellar” will deal with time travel and alternate dimensions, telling the story of a group of explorers who go through a wormhole.

We’ll see how this all turns out on November 7, 2014. Until then, what other Nolan regulars do you want to see back in action? [Deadline]

  1. I don't really get the hate, but then again I haven't watched that many interviews or awards shows. She's definitely talented, that's all I care.

I'd rather watch Hathaway than some other big-name-oscar-winners (Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Renee Zellweger).

  2. BOOOORING. But at least she is trying to up her resume since winning the Oscar. Is she the female lead?? I wish Charlize Theron would work with Nolan and PTA instead of Seth McFarlene and other losers.

  3. Anne Hathaway has a very slight resemblance to a woman I use to know, who thinks she looks more like her than she does, and her sketchy character in "Havoc" was a lot like that woman. Anyway, someone speculated the "hate" is based on an assumption that Hathaway is always performing, but what makes people think other actors aren't "always performing" when they are on talk shows? There's just some jealousy over Hathaway, in addition to a sense some people get from taking her "The Princess Diaries" characters too seriously, as if they wanted her to play that kind of role forever. I'm always open to her films because she seems rather diverse and uninhibited for an A-list actress, and comedic.

  4. Nolan is the master of cinema. Finished. McConaughey is more of a talented force than most people think. Finished. Hathaway is talented and beautiful. Finished. Best film of next year. Finished. Hate this…you're an idiot.

  5. I am not among them, but it is my understanding that people hate on Hathaway because they feel she doesn't come off as genuine in interviews and at awards shows. It's as if she's a supreme theatre kid who never found her own true personality so instead she's ALWAYS performing.

  6. I don't understand the Anne Hathaway hate. It is beyond ridiculous, and it is based on absolutely nothing. Any young actress ( or any actress ) that can pull-off two iconic roles, like Catwoman & Fantine deserves her pick of the top coveted roles in Hollywood. Hathaway is very versatile, and she is one of the few young A-list actresses that will be around for a long time.

  7. Kevin: It's not exactly a mystery why people started disliking Hathaway. I certainly agree that she's a great actress, but when you come across as phony as she did during EVERY awards show this past award season, it can't help but rub people the wrong way. The closing of her Oscar acceptance speech was one of the most pompous, self-important and asburd things I've ever heard, and it showed either an extreme lack of self-awareness or an extreme lack of judgment. In front of the camera, she's one of the best actresses around; on stage or in interviews, she's one of the worst. People know overly rehearsed phoniness when they see it, and Hathaway's got that in spades.

  8. Nolan has got to be one of the most loyal directors around. Seems like if you work with him once and he likes you then you are set. Hope he can find some room in this cast for the underrated Cillian Murphy.

  9. Michael Caine for sure! maybe Gary Oldman,Murphy and JGL! (Hardy and Bale are on other movies)
now i understand why Spielberg delayed his sci-fi movie
