Got a Tip?

Angelina Jolie & Christoph Waltz To Star In ‘Every Note Played’ From ‘Grey Gardens’ Director

In a little less than a month, the world was expected to be introduced to Angelina Jolie’s first Marvel Studios project, “Eternals.” The A-list actress was poised to be bigger than ever with her role in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead, that film has been pushed back a year. But Jolie isn’t resting on her laurels. In fact, she’s already found her next project, “Every Note Played.” And this film is about as far away from the MCU as humanly possible.

According to ErosSTX, the studio is now developing a film adaptation of “Every Note Played,” based on the novel of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Genova, author of “Still Alice.” The film is set to star Jolie opposite Christoph Waltz and directed by Michael Sucsy. “Every Note Played” tells the story of a world-famous concert pianist (Waltz) that is on the verge of composing his magnum opus. However, he gets a devastating medical diagnosis and his estranged wife (Jolie) comes back into his life to take care of him.

Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said, “We’re thrilled to be bringing this exceptional filmmaking team together for this emotional, powerful, and ultimately uplifting story.”

The work of Jolie and Waltz is well known, as both are widely acclaimed actors that instantly raise the profile of whatever project they’re attached to. And the idea of them working together is a pretty incredible prospect. Sucsy is no slouch either. As the director of “Grey Gardens,” he’s earned awards and acclaim. He’s also responsible for films such as “The Vow” and 2018’s “Every Day.” Most recently, he directed multiple episodes of “13 Reasons Why.”

It’s unclear when “Every Note Played” will arrive in theaters or VOD (let’s be real, we’re not sure if anything will be hitting theaters after this pandemic).
