After a stint in development hell, "The Crow" remake is now flying, for better or worse. Jack Huston is locked down in the lead role, and the movie’s big baddie has been found, and it’s being given an interesting gender switch.

Deadline reports that Andrea Riseborough is in talks to play Top Dollar. A dude in the comics, and played by Michael Wincott in the 1994 movie, the character is the gang boss who murders Eric Draven and his girlfriend. When Draven returns in full goth as The Crow, he sets his sights on Top Dollar seeking justice and revenge. And I have to say, as disinterested in this movie as I am, the little twist on the villain is nifty.
Corin Hardy ("The Woods") is directing the film which will land in cinemas probably next year sometime. Thoughts? Does this news make you slightly more optimistic? Hit up the comments section and let us know.
The Crow was, in my opinion, is the best low budget movie of it\’s genre, ever made. The casting could not have better. The sympathic policeman and the bad guys-all were perfect. Brandon Lee would have went on to become a major action movie star, had he lived. The sequels were stinkers. Any reboot will likely fail. I truly hope I am wrong. Reboots rarely have the magic of the original. The Crow as a franchise deserved a better fate than the it recieved . I pray that it gets a worthy effort.
Interesting but I still don\’t see the point in this remake. Jack Huston made me slightly more interested in the end result, but I just don\’t see this movie being anywhere near as good as the original. Who knows though? Maybe we\’ll all be pleasantly surprised.
