While some proclaimed the return of the R-rated movie thanks to “Deadpool,” the jury is perhaps still out on the matter. After all, no one really went to see “The Nice Guys” even though it’s pretty much everything someone would be looking for in an R-rated flick. That’s all to say that “War On Everyone” is very naughty, but here’s hoping the audience screaming for adult entertainment actually shows up.
“Calvary” and “The Guard” director John Michael McDonagh, the film stars Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Pena as a couple of corrupt cops who don’t know a limit to their nefarious scheming, until they finally get in over their heads. Here’s the official synopsis:
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Terry Monroe (Skarsgård) and Bob Bolaño (Peña) are two corrupt cops who set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path. Things take a sinister turn, however, when they try to intimidate someone who is more dangerous than they are. Or is he?
Co-starring Theo James, Tessa Thompson, Malcolm Barrett, Caleb Landry Jones, Paul Reiser, Stephanie Sigman, and David Wilmot, “War On Everyone” opens in the U.K. on October 7th, and will be released in the U.S. by Saban Films, but no date has been set.
This looks like one of those movies where I should just skip the reviews on RT and go see it. Love both of the lead actors so how bad could it be?
