Alexander Payne’s ‘Nebraska’ Unloads A State Full Of New Photos, Plus Soundtrack Deets & A First Listen

"Nebraska"The long road, the vast underpopulated horizons of the Midwest and feelings of regret and pangs of remorse—these are familiar ingredients for filmmaker Alexander Payne, and he spins them into widescreen black-and-white for his latest, “Nebraska.” Earning Bruce Dern a Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival and stopping by New York and Savannah on its way to theaters in a few weeks, the last push is being made for the low-key film with a batch of stills and more arriving, hoping to shine a little more attention on the small movie that packs a bigger emotional wallop.

And while Dern has rightfully earned praise for his turn, comedian Will Forte, playing his son, had to shed his funnyman skin for his first major dramatic role alongside a Hollywood heavyweight and icon. And it was intimidating way beyond getting naked for ridiculous movies like “MacGruber.” “People think that kind of embarrassing situation takes a lot of nerve,” Forte told the L.A. Times “that’s a piece of cake compared to letting people see the way you might act in your more private moments. That’s scary. Thrilling too.”

And helping to tie everything together for the film is the soundtrack and score by Tin Hat member, Mark Orton. The low key work also adds to the homespun texture of the movie and you can pick it up starting on November 19th. The film arrives on November 15, 2013. Soundtrack details below, along with a plethora of new stills. And be sure to read our interviews with Alexander Payne and Bruce Dern.
