“$100 million dollars – that’s what they spent on the ‘Watchmen’ film which nearly didn’t come out because of the lawsuit, that’s what they spent on ‘The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ which shouldn’t have come out but did anyway.
Do we need any more shitty films in this world? We have quite enough already. Whereas the 100 million dollars could sort out the civil unrest in Haiti. And the books are always superior, anyway.” The always convivial “Watchmen” creator/writer Alan Moore suggests world peace is only one rejected blockbuster idea away. [TotalFilm]
Somehow a snake-worshipping graphic novelist is absolutely right.
I honestly don’t know that it’s morally conscionable to spend $100+ million on a film. Not unless you’ve got the sort of talent behind and in front of the camera that you had with Dark Knight (the Nolans, Bale, Ledger, Zimmer/Newton Howard, Pfister, etc.).
Alan Moore is a very sane man, and nuff said.
… and Watchmen Director whats his name is a shitty douchebag turd eater, there nuff said!
it is kinda morally conscionable if you think in terms of how much it will make which is well over $100 million if the cards are played right. of course that money still doesn’t go anywhere, but it’s not like you’re throwing it away. you’re getting a massive return most likely.
ps. this is my first time posting and i must say this is possibly the best darned movie blog on the interweb. keep it up, fellows.
