Got a Tip?

Alain Chabat, Aissa Maiga & More Round Out Cast For Michel Gondry’s ‘Mood Indigo’; More Plot Details Revealed

nullBuilding up for the past little while, Michel Gondry will get his film "Mood Indigo" rolling in front of cameras next week, and with that bit of news Screen Daily has some interesting tidbits, casting and further plot details about the upcoming movie.

An adaptation of Boris Vian's 1947 novel, "L' Ecume des jours," the story follows Colin (Romain Duruis), the wealthy inventor of an olfactory musical instrument, the pianocktail. He marries Chloe (Audrey Tautou), but unfortunately, she falls ill during their honeymoon thanks to a water lily that enters her lung, and the only way to treat the ailment is to surround her with fresh flowers — and the expense soon drains his funds. Previously reported actors Omar Sy ("Intouchables") and Gad Elmaleh ("Midnight In Paris") are on board, playing Colin's manservant Nicolas and best friend Chick, respectively. Charlotte Lebon, who replaced Lea Seydoux last month, will play Isis, a wealthy heiress who falls in love with Colin.

Also joining the cast: Cesar-winning French actor Alain Chabat (the hilarious uncle character in "The Science of Sleep"), as a reincarnation of famed French chef Jules Gouffé; Aissa Maiga ("Caché," "Paris Je T'aime") as Chick's girlfriend Alise; Philipe Torrenton as Jean Sol Patre, a parody version of sorts of Jean-Paul Sartre; and Natacha Regnier as a "remedy seller."

Filming kicks off in France and Belgium on April 10th. And as much as we're looking forward to this…when do we get to see "The We And The I"?
