Got a Tip?

Adam Sandler To Cameo In ‘Green Hornet’- But As Who?

The L.A. Times is reporting that Seth Rogen has enlisted “Funny People” costar Adam Sandler for a cameo in the once-thought-dead “Green Hornet” movie. But as who? A “certain surprise superhero” is the only detail shared by the pokey reporter, and all signs point to the Lone Ranger. The Hornet’s alter ego Britt Reid had been revealed as a great nephew of the Ranger in the original radio show, so it makes sense that he’d be the superhero in question, but didn’t Disney announce a “Lone Ranger” movie with Johnny Depp late last year? Hey, maybe Disney will wait for Sony to shoot the “Green Hornet” movie with the Lone Ranger cameo before theatening the release date with a lawsuit!

Meanwhile, Monkey Peaches reports on “Hornet” co-star Stephen Chow’s next project. Not wasting any time waiting on “Green Hornet”‘s development, he’s reportedly sicced frequent co-star Tin Kai-Man to scout locations in the Sichuan Province for “Journey To The West.” Based on an ancient Chinese novel, it details the adventures of a collection of Chinese monks venturing to India to retrieve stolen scriptures. Chow would direct and star in this lifelong passion project, but no one’s been able to explain how he can do this mammoth project and “Green Hornet” at the same time.

  1. Who knows? But who really needs a Green Hornet comedy anyway? They’d only wind up having to follow it with the Serious Dark Knight version to make up for the lameness. Let’s just kill it now and spare the needless loss of millions.

  2. I agree. I’d rather have 5 more heart n’ balls Apatow comedies before this, but this is what happens when people get big in Hollywood. They’re basically asked: “Hey, we have all these properties lying around that we own: are you interested in taking over any of them? take your pick.”

Sometimes the idea is hard to resist, but i’m not sure why anyone cares. I felt the same way about speed racer and i grew up with it. It was fun and all, but who really gives a fuck?

It’s like younger ppl who grew up with Thundercats (i had that too), they’d like to see a feature film for what – nostalgia? I liked it when i was a kid too, but who gives a shit in the end.
