After being spotted hanging out with “X-Men: First Class” leads director Matthew Vaughn and the new Professor X (James McAvoy) is it right to declare that “Kick-Ass” star Aaron Johnson has been officially cast as Cyclops?
Well, it might be news today, but you’ll remember our casting sources in the U.K. said he was locked into the role weeks ago. Meanwhile, we pity the people trying to debunk the fact that Taylor Lautner is not in the film. The original report never said he was, try reading.
Update: Well, maybe AICN and our sources are wrong. EW is confirming Johnson won’t be in the film. Also, in possibly related news, Johnson has just become a first time father after fiancée Sam Taylor-Wood (“Nowhere Boy”) gave birth to a baby girl.

I was shaking my head at all the "OME TAYLOR LAUTNER HAS BEEN CAST IN FIRST CLASS" reports. It amazes me how a throw away line in one article (Showbiz411) can turn into such a rampant rumor that people take as scripture.
