Horror fans know some basic rules for surviving a horrific encounter. First, if you stop at a gas station in the Deep South, don’t interact with the locals. And another rule is that you never, ever invite said locals (or anyone remotely strange) into your home for dinner. Yet, that’s exactly what happens in the upcoming Blumhouse horror film, “A House on the Bayou.”
As seen in the trailer for “A House on the Bayou,” the story follows a married couple and their young daughter, as they hope to have a nice relaxing vacation in a beautiful mansion in rural Louisiana. However, after breaking the aforementioned rules, the family finds itself falling prey to a neighbor and his seemingly homicidal son, who both use religious righteousness as their reasoning for terrorizing a nice family.
The film stars Angela Sarafyan, Paul Schneider, and Lia McHugh. The latter of which is about to breakout in a big way thanks to a starring role in the new Marvel Studios film, “Eternals.” However, McHugh’s role in ‘Bayou’ is the polar opposite of the grumpy immortal she plays in the superhero film. ‘Bayou’ is produced by horror studio, Blumhouse, and directed by Alex McAulay.
“A House on the Bayou” arrives on EPIX and VOD on November 19. You can watch the trailer below.

In an effort to reconnect and mend their relationship, Jessica and John Chambers (Angela Sarafyan, Paul Schneider) seek an idyllic getaway with their daughter Anna (Lia McHugh) to a remote mansion in rural Louisiana. When suspiciously friendly neighbors show up for dinner uninvited, the weekend takes a sinister turn as the fragile family bond is tested and dark secrets come to light.
