To remake or not to remake, that is the question. And in general, it’s not something we’re big fans of. But Spike Lee taking on Park Chan-Wook‘s “Oldboy? Yeah, we’ll roll the dice on that.
With the movie coming this fall, the marketing is starting to kick off and today we have the first teaser poster for the movie, and it’s simple yet perfectly effective. Josh Brolin leads the movie as an advertising executive who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
The million dollar question around the remake is whether or not it will keep some of the more provocative twists of the original (we won’t spoil them here), but also how it will make its own mark. But with Spike Lee at the helm, we’re sure he’ll make a distinct impression all his own. Co-starring Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson and more, “Oldboy” arrives on October 11th.

Why is Spike Lee in old lady drag in this picture?
This will be good.
Yeah, I especially like their sunny dispositions given the films subject matter and the murderous-looking Min-sik Choi in the background.
I prefer your Photoshop of Spike Lee in a pink cardigan w/ Lizzy Olsen over the actual teaser poster
"She Hate Me" + "Saint Anna" + "Red hook Summer" = PASS.
