It’s about time Crispin Glover got some more mainstream work other than shit like “Epic Movie” to pay the bills (ok he was in “Beowulf” too, but who paid to see that?).
Tim Burton has wisely tapped his odd talents for his 3D adaptation of “Alice In Wonderland” which already features Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Mia Wasikowska as Alice, plus Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter.
Glover has signed on to play Knave of Hearts, who is put on trial for stealing the Queen of Hearts’ tarts and is defended by Alice in Lewis Carroll’s famous story. [THR]
he’d be better as the cat.
i didn't pay to see 'beowulf' at the cinema, but i bought the director's cut dvd, with 'free' notebook and comic. it was quite pricey, but well worth it, especially because of the very long sequence all about crispin and grendel in the 'behind th scenes' special feature. 'beowulf' started out promising, but the story of the kings' always being under the spell of the female demon turned out to be lame. also, crispy's character in the new 'alice' flick IS the knave of hearts, but this is the sequel, so his trial's long behind him. :)i think he would've been just as great as the hatter, though…but the knave's kind of sexy/mysterious. i like seeing him in this kind of role. <3 crispin so. he's truly one of a kind.
