Got a Tip?

Watch: You Are The Revolution In New Promos For ‘The Fifth Estate,’ Plus Posters, Soundtrack Details & More

The Fifth Estate

While earlier today we heard Benedict Cumberbatch‘s distinct voice frighten Bilbo in the new trailer for “The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug,” in a couple weeks you’ll be able not only to hear his melodious tones, but see his face too (under a platinum wig) in “The Fifth Estate,” a.k.a. “The WikiLeaks Network.”

Oh, we’re being a bit snarky, you say? Well, check out those new posters below and tell us if they’re not inspired by a certain David Fincher movie. Anyway, back to ‘Estate,’ it’s directed by Bill Condon and tells the story of the rise of controversial hacker/activist/journalist Julian Assange. Along for the ride is his pal Daniel Domscheit-Berg (played Daniel Brühl) with the pair getting the ball rolling on leaking classified documents, exposing the secrets and lies of governments and corporations, until ethical disagreements drive them apart.

Helping to tell the tale is a score by none other than Carter Burwell (not his most memorable work), which is padded by a handful of songs from Amon Tobin, Tame Impala and a couple of others. The soundtrack drops on October 15th with the movie arriving on October 18th. Read our review here than then check out a couple new promos for the movie, the full soundtrack details and those posters. [Page To Premiere/Film Music Reporter]

  1. I cant help but wonder what the point of this film is. Just watching the saga unfold in real life is fascinating enough- I guess Hollywood needs to dumb things down into "hero vs. traitor" garbage for the dopes out there. Unfortunate.

  2. The posters false equivalency is sooo stupid. Traitor for revealing covered up killings and the US propping up repressive dictatorships?

Gee what's the dumbest false dichotomy we can think of? Gee Hero or Traitor yeah that's good….I'm surprised the propaganda couldn't be a little more subtle but I guess people will believe anything these days.
