Yeah, we know—the Oscars are happening right now, and it is indeed our Super Bowl. But if you wisely took an hour to watch “True Detective” tonight, you know it set things up for a helluva finale (here’s our recap). And with seven days to go until it’s all over, HBO has dropped the teaser for the last episode.
Entitled “Form And Void,” naturally not much has been revealed about how it ends, and not even press are getting send an advance copy. It’s going to be one of the major TV events of the year, and all we have to go on right now is this logline: “An overlooked detail provides Hart and Cohle with an important new lead in their 17-year-old case.”
And, of course, this teaser. Thoughts? Theories? Watch below and tune in next Sunday at 9 PM on HBO to see how it all goes down.
Will True Detective be back for another season?
The voice is Jarred Harris who played Lane Pryce in Mad Men
I have said all along that I would it be surprised if Maggie and/or her dad has something to do with this "unsolved" case. Remember the dolls in the daughters room and how Marty just closed the door and keep moving? Remember how the daughter drew the picture after the children in school dared her? Remember how there was a drawing in the daughters room of the symbol? Think back and pay attention to the small things. My theory is this is all tied into Maggie and her family.
"It's been weeks since I left my mark. Would that they had eyes to see." Voice sounds like actor Rufus Sewell…
Looks like it could be Cohle on that bed, but I'm not sure. That voice is not Errol Childress speaking. The "Yellow King" is probably not a person, but a deity of some sort, cobbled together out of paganism, mythology, and the mix of voodoo and Santeria influences already present in Louisiana.
Justin Beiber is the Yellow King.
Fabulous ep 7. Linear and straight forward. Different, but great!! Always knew the corruption would end w/in the most corrupt cult of all — THE US SENATE. I think that's where the final scene will occur. When Marty/Rust discover that Maggie is a Tuttle offspring, maybe on mother's side, or father's, and that Maggie was on that disgusting slab as a girl, as well as Audrey, his daughter, they will go nuts and go after Sen. Eddie Tuttle. They won't get him, and they may be killed!! But it will not be about the secret YK cult, it will be about the money that the BIG PEOPLE made throughout the years. The YK cult is just the sick meanderings of the people doing the dirty work. Tho, I would not be surprised if the good Rev. and Eddie, did partake in some of the twisted sex cult actions in Carcosa/woods near Revs house!!!!
One of the cops that put that suicide back in his cell (the one that said 'Yellow King' in '02) has the surname, 'Childress'.
SPOILERS: Laying down tied up doesn't fit being Rust or Marty. Guess it could be the bar owners missing son (one that Rust works at).
We all see the bar owner with the rifle apparently about to shoot the sheriff after getting a cue from Rust to do so. Not sure if its their interrogation with the sheriff or with a lady at a prison/mental institute that finally leads them to Carcosa (you can hear a voice over basically stating they've found it).
We see Det. Thomas Papania pull up to a scene at night almost implying they arrive in the aftermath at whatever goes down at the Carcosa location.
Guessing towards the end when Rust and Marty reach Carcosa perhaps a ritual is going on enabling them to confront most now involved and if rumors are to be true the unmasking of the Yellow King comes in the shows final minutes. Assume they will also reveal or go into further detail on Marty's kid Audrey having been a victim at a Tuttle school. Unclear if Maggie and/or her dad play any role in any of this.
Haven't seen the full ep 8 synopsis but this one came out last week: âAn overlooked detail provides Hart and Cohle with an important new lead in their 17-year-old case.â
Hmm – WHO IS ON THAT TABLE?
Crucifixion Perhaps???
Dun Dun Dunnnn ……
