We’re just a couple of days awa from Cannes unveiling their cinematic goodies for 2014, but before we get to that, this year’s poster is here and it points to one of great movies of all time.
Marcello Mastroianni, in a image taken from Federico Fellini‘s “8 1/2,” (presented at Cannes in 1963) graces the new one sheet. The choice continues the run of classic movie stars who have graced posters in years past including Faye Dunaway, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and Marilyn Monroe.
“The way he looks at us above his black glasses draws us right in to a promise of global cinematographic happiness,” explained the poster’s designer. “The happiness of experiencing the Festival de Cannes together.”
Well, mission accomplished, design team. The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 14th to 25th. Check out the full one sheet below.
"Well, mission accomplished, design team."
