With tonight’s premiere of FX’s “Fargo,” it’s clear the miniseries – or “limited series,” the current preferred nomenclature – is back on the rise in the television world. While the development of the small screen take on “The Exorcist” stalled last summer, NBC is filling the horror void with their two-part, four-hour take on “Rosemary’s Baby” and a trailer for the miniseries has arrived online to chill you to the bone.
Although it’s been billed as a back-to-basics adaptation of Ira Levin’s original 1967 novel, there’s no getting around the long shadow cast by Roman Polanski’s seminal film – star Zoe Saldana is even sporting a short haircut of her own. The one minute trailer (via Rope Of Silicon) really plays up the cult aspects of the thriller and has Jason Isaacs looking positively smarmy.
Prestige TV vet Agnieszka Holland – “Treme,” “The Wire” and “The Killing” – directs the miniseries which premieres its first two hours on NBC on May 11th with the final two hours airing later that week on May 15th. Make sure all the lights are on and watch the trailer below.
Looks incredibly delicious, can't wait!!! Great casting always makes me happy ;).
Terrible.
Why?
wow, looks extra-horrible. uninspired casting, too. quite fond of holland's work on treme and the wire – her episodes were always the better ones – but this looks like quite the stinker.
