Christian Bale’s mom is apparently “upset” over hearing his “Terminator Salvation” temper tantrum/ meltdown. Not only are the streets watching, so is your moms — a word to the wise for outburst-prone public figures of the world.
His mother Jenny Bale, 61, is well aware of Bale’s temper, having been screamed at so fiercely and loudly, the ‘Dark Knight’ star was arrested last summer. But she still has sympathy for her son and hoped that he was still brushing his teeth every day.
“People might now realize that that is his temper, they might understand a bit more [ed. does she mean, ‘don’t fuck with my son?’] I wish he hadn’t carried this on so long or so fiercely, it was upsetting to hear him.” She’s clearly somewhat disappointed with her baby boy, but she also understands how the incident might have happened. Oh, and she also says, why haven’t you called lately Christian, I made you a nice sweater, and I’m happy that you’re not angry all the time like you were last July.
“I haven’t spoken to Christian about it, but I have listened to most of it and he was clearly very angry. He is a perfectionist and if you are doing an intense scene and someone is spoiling a shot, it takes time to get it back. It sounds as if a lighting engineer got in the shot so I can understand his anger but not the length of the tirade. It happened in July when he was filming the Terminator and was before the incident with him and myself at the Batman premiere with all the publicity.”
Look if mom can understand, but not endorse the behavior. Can’t we do the same and all just get along and leave him alone already? REEEEEEEEEEMIX! (PS, for those hoping this will all soon blow over — and let me tell you there are many out there wishing it so — Bale still has to come out with his response/ mea culpa. Once that finally hits, we assume it’ll all be over. But until then…)
I think everyone would’ve been cool with a sentence or two, like “Fucking idiot, get the fuck outta the way!” It is the length we all had a problem with to begin with. Four fucking minutes…and thats all we actually heard.
Four beautiful sonorous minutes heard the world round. A sonnet we all shall not soon forget.
“Bale still has to come out with his response/ mea culpa. Once that finally hits, we assume it’ll all be over. But until then..”
Why does Bale have to do that? He doesn’t owe any of us anything (with regard to that specific incident). Due to production schedules, it happened a long time ago, the filming went on, the DP wasn’t fired, everyone made nice and made a movie.
How does he owe anyone else anything? Just let it go.
PR decorum insists he’ll probably have to make some sort of statement of some kind or someone will ask him about it and that’ll be his response.
“they might understand a bit more”? Understand what? Her plight with her son? Everyone’s against him! He’s right, the world is WRONG!
Did Bale ever say anything about the incident with his mother? For some reason I’m thinking he never did, but I’m probably wrong.
I think all he needs to say is, “This happened, I’ve moved on, Shane has moved on, there is nothing left to say.”
he did: “it’s a deeply personal matter, please respect our privacy.”
RADAR now says that Shane Whatshisbutt (the DP) was widely despised by the other crew members on set. He would say things like, “go stab yourself in the eye and die you idiot,” which didn’t endear him to others. Apparently Bale became a bit of a hero to them after the incident.
The thing about this is that I find it all very hilarious. My interest in the story comes from an amusement stand point. It does irritate me when someone feigns outrage though (maybe not Bale-style irritation, but irritation just the same) or takes a holier-than-thou attitude about it, but I think it’s fun to make fun of this whole situation.
Also, I do find it weird that Whatshisbutt hasn’t said anything publicly. I think he could have put this thing to rest early on if he had wanted to.
Hmmmmmmmm…..
Something tells me he won’t be working on T5, and may have had a couple of friends in the sound department. 😉
I imagine Bale’s under a lot of pressure, i honestly can’t blame him for blowing up
