Cannes kicks off a week from today, and it seems the only thing we can talk about at the moment is Robert Pattinson. Yesterday saw three clips from “Maps To The Stars“ drop online, plus the news that the actor might be working with Harmony Korine next. Well, twenty-four hours has passed and there’s still more coming from the actor’s Cannes entries.
First up, a handful of new images from David Michod‘s “The Rover” are here. And if you’ve guessed that the movie is stark and minimal, you’re right. “Yes, this impression of desolation was coming off the script, which had stricken me with its ‘hungry’ side. The film is extremely bare but it manages to create an extra-terrestrial world of its own. A quality, which in a way, reminded me of ‘Cosmopolis,’ ” the actor told Premiere (via Maps To The Stars Fansite). And certainly, are both bare and otherwordly.
Meanwhile, a fresh clip from “Maps To The Stars” has arrived too, providing another look at David Cronenberg‘s Hollywood takedown. And in the scene, it’s more talk about movies, with Mia Wasikowska pitching Pattinson’s character on an indie she’d like to make.
With all the buzz, let’s just hope the movies turn out to be good. Check out the material below.
Now this is what I'm talking about. Talent, depth, challenge. I love it. I too can't wait to see how Rob stretches his acting abilities!
I don't think that Michod's work can be bad, honestly he is too talented and has some kind of style and idea of how his movie should be.I've read an opinion of some fan who read TR script and said this stuff was seriously disturbing.I can't wait to see it.And Cronenberg doesn't make bad movies.
Great images from The Rover.
I truly believe the buzz is justified and this will be a turning point in Pattinson's career.
