It looks like HBO is eager to stay in the Danny McBride business. With “Eastbound & Down” wrapping up its fourth and final season last fall, the network is reupping with McBride and Jody Hill for “Vice Principals,” and they’ve already gone ahead and ordered eighteen episodes.
While HBO won’t yet confirm how they’ll parcel that order out (though three, six episode seasons seems like the obvious approach), they did reveal that it tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals. So, Kenny Powers with kids? Sorta sounds like it, though we’d wager the concept will have different notes and textures for McBride to play with. So one to keep an eye on.
Meanwhile, “Girls” is in the midst of production for season four and as added “Community” alum Gillian Jacobs, Variety reports. But just don’t ask what her role is because no one is saying just yet.
It seems like maybe about 1/20 stories posted here actually include original content, the rest is just swiped from other, more reputable, websites.
It's like Pitchfork for movies, but not profitable.
"But just don't ask what her role is because no one is saying just yet."
Even though this story was reported a week ago by TVLine, Entertainment Weekly, AV Club, and Vulture? And they say her character's name, what episode she'll be appearing in and that she'll be a recurring character? Also, in EW, Gillian Jacobs actually describes what her character is like and this has all been up online for a week now.
Jeez. Every news story, especially the Edgar Wright project exit, is being reported here 2-3 days after everyone else writes better, more interesting, and less condescending reportage of the same events. I'm not writing any of the Girls character stuff because research should be a larger part of your job than looking at your Variety subscription and forming one vague sentence (with a misspelling) and one wrong one out of it.
Also,
"They've already done ahead and ordered eighteen episodes"?
"So one to keep an eye one"?
This site is completely ridiculous. It's hilarious.
"season for"
sigh…
