Scoot McNairy is the best actor right now that no one has heard of. Incredibly versatile, deeply talented and something of a chameleon too, he’s quietly racked up a CV of films that includes Gareth Edwards‘ breakout "Monsters," Andrew Dominik‘s "Killing Them Softly," Gus Van Sant‘s "Promised Land," Steve McQueen‘s "12 Years A Slave," David Michôd‘s "The Rover," the upcoming "Frank," and that has all led to a starring role in the new AMC series "Halt & Catch Fire." And now, McNairy is making the blockbuster leap.
Deadline reports that the actor has joined the ensemble of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice." His role? No one is talking, but if you ask us, he’d be a great Flash. Just saying. And we’d also have to assume that Bruce Wayne himself—Ben Affleck—likely put in a good word for the actor after his nice turn in "Argo."
Speculate away below. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" opens on May 6, 2016.
He has Blue Beetle written all over him, but I can't see them bringing that character into the DCU at this point.
He was rumored to be playing a role in the first movie. I hope it's someone important and not some worthless secondary villain like "The Toyman". The guy needs a moment in the spotlight.
Flash or Hal Jordan?
I think he will be another person to regret signing on to the biggest nightmare/joke that DC/WB will have ever made. This will be VERY bad.
As good an actor as he is, I doubt anyone would be willing to cast him in the role of the Flash, regardless of how many heavy hitter friends he has in Hollywood.
He would've been perfect for a reimagined depiction of S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Emil Hamilton, but unless they recast that role coming out of Man of Steel where Richard Schiff played the character I guess that's out of the realm of possibility.
Edward Nigma
Hank Williams?
Max Lord?
Nightwing?
