Looking Back: The 10 Year Anniversary of Stanley Kubrick’s Death

On March 7, 10 years ago, titan of cinema Stanley Kubrick passed away at the age of 70 in his sleep; just four days after finishing the final edit on “Eyes Wide Shut.” To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of his death, MCN wrote up a little tribute. Anne Thompson posted a 2001 special on the Charlie Rose with Martin Scorsese, his wife, Christiane Kubrick and longtime producer Jan Harlan that dovetailed nicely with the then-new release of the documentary, “Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures” (a fantastic and thoroughly engaging documentary). A great episode of Charlie Rose that easy to get sucked into all the way through. Another highlight, Kubrick’s little-seen early short, “Day of the Fight” (1951) can be seen here.
