We’ve already mentioned that the film, “Gigantic” starring Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel and an terribly funny John Goodman, will not have a soundtrack release, but it does feature some great music.
The film features a buoyant and winsome score by Imperial Teen founder and ex-Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum, and also features the music of Edith Frost, Masta Killa, Richard & Linda Thompson and Animal Collective (all the music featured in the film can be found here).
So in lieu of a soundtrack, we have two copies of Animal Collective’s newest record, Merriweather Post Pavilion, to give away. To win simply email usthe answer to this question: who is one of the well-known producers of the film and what Dylan-esque film did she produce in recent years? The answer is buried somewhere on our blog. Use the search and you should find. Bonne chance. Update: That was quick, thanks for playing. Contest over.
The film also co-stars Clarke Peters (from “The Wire”) Zach Galifianakis, Ed Asner, Jane Alexander, and a hilarious Ian Roberts (“Step Brothers” and “Talladega Nights”). Do see it if you get a chance. It’s a great little film with sharp writing. Here’s some clips and here’s the trailer.
“Gigantic” comes out this Friday April 3, in limited release.
Nailed it.
Granted I already own the Animal Collective(On CD and vinyl, respectively), I just wanted to throw in my ‘two cents’ that “Merriweather Post Pavilion” is flat out brilliant.
