Got a Tip?

Cash-Poor Michael Bay Struggling To Pony Up Dough To Cast Leonard Nimoy As Voice For His Overgrown Toy Robots

Michael Bay recently revealed that he was hesitant in offering his second cousin, Leonard Nimoy, a voice role in “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen”: “[Nimoy] is married to Susan Bay, who’s a cousin to me. I just feel kind of bad about asking him. Like ‘I can’t pay you that much? But would you do this voice?'” “Transformers” earned mega-bucks, so they idea that Bay can’t pay what he contends is almost an in-law relative is rather hilarious.

Bay has some inside info on Nimoy’s eagerness: “Would he do it? He suggested to my mom that he might do it – And now that you are filming this, maybe you can send it to him.” Nimoy voiced the character Galvatron in 1986’s “Transformers: The Movie.”[MTV]

Simon West is set to helm a remake of “The Mechanic” with Jason Statham to play the role of Charles Bronson’s Arthur Bishop. The film follows an aging hitman and his eager, young apprentice. [Production Weekly]

To beat a dead horse even more, Arnold Schwarzenegger on his possible probable “Terminator Salvation” cameo: “I made it very clear that I don’t have the time to do the movie. I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now.” [ComingSoon]

A whole host of images from Neil Marshall’s (“The Descent”) “Centurion” is in this month’s issue of Total Film and Empire magazines. The film stars Dominic West, Michael Fassbender and Olga Kurylenko and follows a group of soldiers fighting for their lives behind enemy lines. [/Film/Empire]

Little known British actor Charlie Hunnam (“Sons Of Anarchy,” though he is known for his role on Judd Apatow’s “Undeclared”) has revealed that he tested for the title role in Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor.” This most likely rules Alexander Skarsgård out of contention as he recently said he still had yet to hear from producers. 1. To be fair to Bay, he has no say in how much Nimoy would get for voiceover work…that’s a studio based decision.

Simon West. Wow. Other than Con Air, what has that hack brought to the table that was remotely entertaining? Oh…that’s right…he did have his paws all over that kick-ass (but short lived) tv series Keene Eddie. With the smokin’ hot Sienna Miller to boot.

  2. The biggest mistake? Simon West probably finds the original “Mechanic” to be a film that cannot be surpassed. “The Mechanic” is not that great, and now we’re getting an even weaker version. People, if you paid to see Crank 2, Simon West wouldn’t be working any longer.
