Got a Tip?

New ‘Avatar’ Photos, ‘Inception’ Character Names Leaked, Set Pics From Robert Rodriguez’ ‘Machete’

On the eve of “Avatar” Day and the release of the first trailer from the James Cameron film, a batch of photos have been released showcasing many of the cast who have thus far been missing from press including Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. [ComingSoon]
Character names from Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” have evidently leaked via a call sheet photographed in Paris. That is unless they’re purposefully fake. Ellen Page will play Ariadne, Joseph Gordon Levitt is Arthur, Tom Hardy is Eames, Ken Watanabe is Saito, Dileep Rao is Yusef, Cillian Murphy is Fischer while Tom Berenger is Browning. Lead Leonardo DiCaprio’s name is missing from the list though a cryptic “Cobb” character has first billing and may very well be DiCaprio. BTW, looks like the “Inception” teaser trailer will in fact feature actual film footage. [NolanFans]
Here’s your first look at Jessica Alba, Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal on the set of Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete” which has began shooting in Austin, Texas. [JessicaAlbaFansite]
Guy Ritchie has now confirmed what everyone should already know (or at least you should if you’ve been reading this site): antagonist Professor Moriarty will feature in his upcoming “Sherlock Holmes.” “Some kind of an appearance is probably the best way to describe it,” Ritchie explains. “All will be revealed. I’m afraid I have to be slightly ambiguous about this but you’ll understand what I’m talking about when you see the movie.” Additionally, when asked whether a specific actor will be credited with Moriarty’s appearance, Ritchie added “I believe not.” This interview was before the Brad Pitt rumor and we’d hate to fuel it, BUT first the potshot tabloid story is right on about reshoots, now Moriarty’s appearance will be uncredited? I mean if he’s not going to be credited, he’s not going to technically be in it, is he? Don’t count on it but, it’s a conspiracy at best. [MTV]
Looks like Liev Schreiber has been catching on recent talk of a “Wolverine” sequel and wants in on the payday action. “Hugh [Jackman] mentioned that he had some conversations about it, but no one’s told me about it yet,” Schreiber revealed. “I’d love to find out what happened to Victor. I’d like to find out how my Victor became Tyler Mane’s Victor.” Nice try. [MTV]

Can anyone explain this photo of Michael Cera on the set of Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” other than being kind of awesome? Bass levitation? [EdgarWrightHere]
Peter Berg’s “Hancock” did pretty good business last summer so it shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise, talk of a sequel has been murmuring around, however unfortunate that may be. Berg recently stirred the pot further revealing that a sequel might explore the idea of “another god out there.” “They’d like to fast-track it, but Will [Smith]’s busy, I’m pretty busy,” Berg continued. “We’re excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don’t feel a burning imperative to go right back into it.” We couldn’t care less, to be honest. [SciFiWire]

Bill Birch has been tapped to reboot “Shazam!,” the DC Comics’ adaptation of the Captain Marvel story. With an eye on a franchise, Peter Segal is attached to direct the feature which will center around teenager Billy Batson, who transforms into the superhero when he says the word “Shazam!” Isn’t there better capes and tights to make features about? That character worked in the ’50s, but even in modern day comics felt rather antiquated (though when they dropped the kid in the ’90s version of the Justice League it was admittedly kind of amusing). 1. I can explain the Scott Pilgrim photo: he has to play guitar in the middle of a fight, it's a blue screen behind him, and so the end result will be that he's playing in the air as power chords emanate from him and destroy things or people.
