‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Story’: Documentary About The Actor’s Life, Career & Battle Against Parkinson’s Premieres On Apple TV+ On May 12

Fresh off its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film FestivalDavis Guggenheim‘s “Still: A Michael J. Fox” movie hits Apple TV+ next month. The doc looks at the life and career of the celebrated actor and his highly-publicized battle against Parkinson’s disease, which Fox was diagnosed with at age 29.

The Apple Original Films production incorporates documentary, archival and scripted elements to tell Michael J. Fox’s extraordinary story in his own words. Fox traces his childhood as a small kid on a Canadian army base to becoming one of the biggest Hollywood stars of the 1980s to his ongoing fight against a debilitating sickness. As Fox puts it, his life is what happens “when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease,” but there are plenty of nostalgic thrills and fanfare in between.

Guggenheim, Annetta MarionWill Cohen, and Jonathan King produce “Still.” The film’s executive producers include Laurene Powell JobsJonathan SilberbergNicole Stott, and Nelle Fortenberry.
