Once upon a time ago, you’ll recall a little platform called Quibi. Founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, Quibi was a short-lived American short-form streaming platform that generated content for viewing on mobile devices. Essentially, if you ever thought, “oh man, the way things are moving, people might as well just make TikTok movies,” then Quibi has a similar idea of bite-sized narrative content. It didn’t work and failed in under a year, shuttering at the end of 2020. However, there’s a lot of content that never really saw the light of date on it, or at least not beyond what Quibi users saw. And what’s left of Quibi has been selling off that content. This leads us to “Die Hart,” a Kevin Hart action comedy series that once started as Quibi content that has been recut and shaped for Amazon’s Prime Video.

Prime Video released the official full-length trailer for “Die Hart,” today, noting it will premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on February 24. The satirical action comedy follows Kevin Hart (“Ride Along,” “Fatherhood,” “Me Time”) in his pursuit of a life-changing role. “Die Hart” is produced by Hartbeat, Hart’s global media company.
“Die Hart” sees Kevin Hart playing a fictionalized version of himself as he sets out to pivot from being pigeonholed as a comedy wingman to being taken seriously as an action movie star. Hart attends “action hero school” run by Ron Wilcox, played by John Travolta, where he attempts to learn the ropes on how to become one of the industry’s most coveted action stars.
Kevin Hart and John Travolta are joined by Nathalie Emmanuel (“Game of Thrones,” the “Fast & Furious” franchise), Josh Hartnett (“Wrath of Man,” “Paradise Lost”), and Jean Reno (“Call My Agent!,” “22 Bullets”). The movie is directed by Eric Appel (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) and written by Derek Kolstad (“John Wick: Chapter 1, 2, and 3”).
“Die Hart” the movie features the original 10-episode-episode series reimagined into a feature film format. Originally launched on Quibi in the U.S., the series scored an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 80%. Prime Video will now become the exclusive home of “Die Hart,” the movie, bringing the hilarious and iconic comedy performance of Hart and his co-stars to a worldwide audience.
“Die Hart” hits Amazon on February 24. Watch the new trailer below.
