‘Full Circle’: Claire Danes Joins Steven Soderbergh’s HBO Max Limited Series

Ever the workhorse, Steven Soderbergh has made the most of the three-year overall deal he signed with HBO Max in January 2020. The director has already supplied HBO subscribers with three films, “Let Them All Talk,” “No Sudden Move,” and “Kimi,” with “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” on the way soon. Now add a new limited series to that list: “Full Circle,” with Zazie Beetz set to star.

And now decorated TV vet Claire Danes joins “Full Circle,” too, making it an even more intriguing project. Deadline reports that Danes and Beetz will lead the six-episode series, with more cast announcements on the way. “Full Circle” follows an investigation into a botched kidnapping in NYC, which uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures. Beetz reportedly plays an agent for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, while Danes plays a Manhattan attorney who runs her father’s business.

“Full Circle” sees Soderbergh team up again with writer Ed Solomon and executive producer Casey Silver. The trio last worked together on “No Sudden Movie” last year. Solomon also worked with Soderbergh on his 2017 interactive HBO series “Mosaic.”

Danes is a TV mainstay thanks to her role as Carrie Mathison in Showtime‘s “Homeland.” She’s won two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, and a SAG award for the show, among other accolades. Danes first broke out as an actress in “My So-Called Life,” for which she also won a Golden Globe. The actress has a history with HBO, too: she won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award for the 2010 HBO film “Temple Grandin.”

As for recent work, Dane stars in Apple TV+‘s limited series “The Essex Serpent.” She also stars in the upcoming FX limited series “Fleishman Is In Trouble.”

So, who will join Beetz and Danes for Soderbergh’s next HBO Max project? And could the director squeeze in another film/series before his three-year deal is up early next year? Given Soderbergh’s furious work ethic, it just may happen.
