A lot of bad things can happen when you go out in the woods with your partner. There are wild animals. Horror movies taught us there could be evil murderers with machetes. But sometimes, as in the new film, “Significant Other,” the scariest part of going in the woods is maybe your partner. Do you really know they won’t murder you in cold blood?

As seen in the trailer for “Significant Other,” the film follows the story of a young woman who is found injured in the woods, unable to remember what happened to her previously. Through flashbacks, we learn that she was hiking with her boyfriend and seemingly having a great time. However, something changed and tensions rose and maybe she murdered him? Maybe she dreamed it all? Who knows? What we do know is that the young woman is hiding a secret.
“Significant Other” stars Maika Monroe and Jake Lacy. The film is written and directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. The duo previously worked with Monroe on the cult hit, “Villains.” They also wrote and directed the film, “Body.”
“Significant Other” is set to debut on Paramount+ on October 7. You can watch the trailer below.
