Greig Fraser Takes Top 2022 ASC Award For ‘Dune’

It’s the middle of Oscar voting, “CODA’s” win at the PGA Awards has everyone buzzing and we’re exactly one week away from the big show. Sunday, March 20 features the last day of guild honors. The American Society of Cinematographers was the last to hand out their awards and, not surprisingly, the top prize went to Greig Fraser for “Dune.”

Fraser beat out Ari Wegner (“The Powerof the Dog”), Dan Lausten (“Nightmare Alley”), Bruno Delbonnel (“The Tragedy of Macbeth”) and Haris Zambarloukos (“Belfast”). He’s now the presumed frontrunner for the Oscar in a field which includes Janusz Kaminski (“West Side Story”) instead of Zambarloukos.

Pat Scola took the Spotlight Award for “Pig.”

Jessica Beshir took the Documentary honor for “Faya Dayi.” Michael Berlucchi and Marc Carter won for Episodic Half Hour of Television for “Mythic Quest.” Tommy Maddox-Upshaw took the ASC Award for One Hour of Television – Commercial for “Snowfall.” Jon Joffin took the One Hour of Television – Non-Commercial award for “Titans” (Episode: “Soul”). James Laxton won Motion Picture, Limited Series, or Pilot Made for Television for “The Underground Railroad.”
