Kristen Stewart Says She’s Starring In A Romantic Sci-Fi Drama With Steven Yeun

Kristen Stewart has received significant praise and Oscar talk for her role as Princess Diana in the new film “Spencer,” which has been doing quite well in the festival circuit. And now we have an idea of what one of her upcoming films will be, thanks to a new interview profile in Entertainment Weekly.

During promotion for the film, the actress revealed she recently wrapped on David Cronenberg’s new movie “Crime of The Future” and that a new sci-fi film is in store for her co-starring Oscar-nominee Steven Yeun (“Minari,” “Burning”).

It’s unclear who is writing or directing this untitled project. However, Kristen Stewart gives Entertainment Weekly an obscure synopsis, “It’s actually a love story between a satellite and a buoy; it’s hard to explain. I hope I don’t botch it because it’s a really revolutionarily written script.”

Stewart is known for dramas these days (aside from “Twilight” vampire fantasy romance, anyhow), but she already tackled the sci-fi genre recently with 20th Century Studios’ Lovecraftian horror pic “Underwater.”

Pairing two awards caliber actors together is definitely not a bad idea, as they certainly have their own followings. It also wouldn’t be the first genre project for Yeun, who first became famous thanks to the AMC series “The Walking Dead” and voices the titular character in Amazon’s hit mature animated superhero series “Invincible,” both based on comics by Robert Kirkman.

Steven Yeun also has a juicy lead role in Jordan Peele’s (“Get Out,” “Us”) new movie, “Nope,” which will hit theaters on July 22, 2022, though details on what kind of film that movie is precisely are unknown (though we’re all hoping for another inventive social horror).

We’ll be excited to learn more details and who the creatives on the film will be behind this project because you don’t assemble these two actors for something minor.
