While HBO doesn’t have the monopoly it once did on prestige TV series, with recent competition from Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, and other streaming services, that doesn’t mean the premium network doesn’t consistently release high-quality series, such as the comedy “Insecure.” And now’s probably a great time to catch up, if you haven’t already, as the final season of “Insecure” is arriving next month.

As seen in the trailer for the fifth and final season of “Insecure,” creator-writer-producer-star Issa Rae returns with her HBO comedy series that follows the lives of several people in Los Angeles. The series mostly follows the story of Issa and Molly, old college friends, as they show growth in their personal and professional lives, with tons of hijinks along the way.
Joining Issa Rae in the cast for “Insecure” are Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales, and Courtney Taylor. As mentioned, “Insecure” recently took home some Emmy gold, which is long overdue to Rae and her crew. However, even though it didn’t win the Oustanding Comedy Series award, last year marked the first time in four seasons the show was recognized in that category, which speaks towards the increased buzz surrounding the final season.
