Netflix has more than a few big releases this summer, but one of the most exciting is Leigh Janiak‘s “Fear Street Trilogy.” Based on the R.L. Stine book series of the same name, Netflix decided to release the trio of films over three straight Fridays this month as an early Halloween treat to its subscribers.
The trilogy wraps with “Part Three: 1666,” as a group of Shadyside teenagers in 1994 seek to discover the secret that links together their hometown’s terrifying history.

Here’s the official synopsis:
In 1666, a colony is gripped by a hysterical witch-hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come. Meanwhile, the teenagers in 1994 and 1978 try to finally put an end to the town’s curse before it is too late.
Part of the trilogy’s premise focuses on a particular horror genre along with a given year in Shadyside’s history for each installment. “Part Three: 1666” looks to integrate witchcraft and supernatural horror into the mix as the trilogy comes to a close.
“Part Three: 1666” stars Kiana Madeira (‘Trinkets‘), Ashley Zukerman (‘A Teacher‘), Gillian Jacobs (‘North Hollywood‘), Olivia Welch (‘Shithouse‘), and Benjamin Flores Jr. (‘Your Honor‘). Darrell Britt-Gibson (‘Judas And The Black Messiah‘), Fred Hechinger (‘The Woman In The Window‘), and Julia Rehwald (‘Fear Street Trilogy’). Sadie Sink (‘Stranger Things‘), Emily Rudd (‘The Romanoffs‘), McCabe Slye (‘Destroyer‘), Jordana Spiro (‘Blindspot‘), and Jordyn DiNatale (‘The Irishman‘) also star.
Janiak, who directs all three films in the trilogy, co-writes with Phil Graziadei and Kate Trefry. Marco Beltrami provides music with Anna Drubich and Marcus Trumpp.
